Not overly spacey, but close.

Biked my way over to Saturna Island this week, and it turned out to be one of those days that sticks with you. Hopped on the ferry from Fulford to Swartz, with just enough time in between to snag a few groceries before catching the next sailing. There’s something about stringing together ferries and bikes that makes you feel like you’re really earning the journey.
Saturna itself? Quiet. Sparse. And absolutely stunning. The roads are few and far between, which makes every pedal feel like you’re carving deeper into something untouched. No traffic, no rush—just rolling hills, big stretches of silence, and ocean views that stop you in your tracks.
We rode out to East Point Lighthouse, where the wind and the waves set the soundtrack, and then wandered through the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve. Hard to beat a place that feels this raw and unpolished. Saturna doesn’t hand things to you—it asks you to slow down, breathe a little deeper, and just take it all in.
