The Sound of the Drum
There’s something about a djembe that doesn’t just fill space, it shapes it. I’ve been spending time learning the foundations of West African drumming with Tristan and Julia, slowly getting a feel for the rhythms, the structure, and the way each part locks into the next. It’s humbling, in the best way. There’s a depth to it that you don’t really understand until you’re sitting in it. These photos came out of one of those sessions.
